In a surprise move, it's a Celeron injecting a bit more excitement in the Intel processor chart. A $21 decrease in the price of the 3.06GHz Celeron 345 is certainly welcome news for value buyers, and keeps this week's Intel chart from being completely devoid of significant price drops. But with the exception of some activity on a few of the Pentium 4 5XX series processors, there's not much else to report as far as Intel prices go.
For yet another consecutive week, prices are holding almost universally steady, with only small shifts putting any downward pressure on CPU prices. When an Intel Celeron represents the largest price cut of the week, you pretty well know it has not been a good one for consumers. A handful of drops are scattered across both sections of the guide, but none are big enough to get prospective buyers too excited and most prices are right where they were in last week's guide.
