For yet another consecutive week, the Intel processor chart is almost completely devoid of significant price drops, and nothing even approached the double-digit level. The price stability of single core Pentium 4 models is not surprising, but in the face of consistent Athlon 64 X2 price cuts, we did expect a bit more movement in the Pentium D 820-840 and Pentium EE 840 camps.
A handful of price drops in the AMD section of the guide help keep things somewhat interesting, especially the juicy cut to the dual core Athlon 64 X2 4400+. But overall, it's been a fairly slow week for CPU pricing, with most holding right where they have been in previous editions of the guide. This is especially true with Intel processors, and the single core Pentium 4 5xx and 6xx prices look to be stuck in time.
