Here, as in the AMD charts, we see a handful of scattered price drops keeping an otherwise ho-hum section of the guide interesting. The Pentium D models again showed nominal cuts throughout the line, but it was very surprising to find the majority of the double-digit price cuts resting in the Celeron column. The biggest, a $21 drop in the price of the 3.06GHz Celeron 345J and $15 off the 2.93GHz Celeron 340J, may not be huge, but these should be enough to make at least a few entry-level buyers happy.
Across both the AMD and Intel sections of the CPU price guide, scattered drops help to keep things interesting, but it was a very stable week overall. This is especially true of the Intel list, where the Celeron price cuts took centre stage over the Pentium 4. Now we're not scoffing at ~$20 drops mind you, but it would be nice if we could see such drops become less the exception and more the norm.
