A $20 drop in the price of the 3.46GHz Pentium 4 Extreme might make it seem like there's more downward movement in the Intel chart than what we saw in the AMD section of the guide, but this is really where it begins and ends for the Intel side. The still-high $964 price tag also leaves this processor at the top-end of the scale, and the fact that it's the only drop we see that's of more than a few dollars makes it a pretty uneventful week for Intel CPU buyers.
It's been another very slow week for processor prices, overall. Across both the AMD and Intel sections of the guide, you'll find that price drops are few and far between, and double-digit cuts are becoming downright rare. But hopefully, we'll see some more chart movement as the current fiscal quarter closes in another few weeks.
