The processor prices we tracked in this week's Intel charts are every bit as stagnant as their AMD counterparts. None of these dropped by more than a few dollars, and few have dropped at all. The biggest cut, in fact, was all of $4; and that was on the highest priced processor in the chart, the Pentium Extreme Edition 840. After AMD slashed prices on their Athlon 64 X2 line a few weeks back, we expected some price movement on the Pentium D front, but so far, nada.
Unfortunately, this week's price guide is about as uneventful an update as we've had in a while. The few processors that dropped in price at all fell by only a few dollars. More moved upward, in fact, than downward; though thankfully, those, too, were a rarity. Stability is the word of the day, and most AMD and Intel processors held right where they've been for a while.
