Of all the Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron processor prices tracked in the Intel chart, only five of them fell at all in this week's guide, and none dropped by more than $2. A couple even inched upwards in price; but those, similarly, were by just a dollar. Overall, Intel prices have been extremely stable over the last month, and it's tough to imagine anything but a spate of new product releases having any real effect.
Throughout both of the AMD and Intel sections of the CPU guide, overall prices are holding so steady as to seem frozen in time and space. New product introductions have ground to a halt and price drops are few, small, and far between, making this a less than jolly holiday shopping season for any potential processor buyers, regardless of which camp you happen to be in.
