While there are a few more price drops in the Intel section of the guide than we saw among AMD processors, it's not exactly setting the chart on fire. We counted a grand total of six Intel price drops, and of those, only one was more than $1 - and even that one was a paltry $5 drop. The rest of the processors in the Intel chart either held steady, or like the Pentium D 830 and 840, inched upwards in price.
The winter chill continues to keep the CPU prices tracked in the weekly guide frozen in place, with price drops being as few and far between as we've seen in quite a while. When the biggest price drop to be found in the entire guide checks in at a whopping $5 and no others drop by more than $1, it's hard to remain hopeful of price cuts brightening up this hitherto dark holiday CPU shopping season.
