While this week's Intel chart starts off with what seems like it might be a promising $9 drop in the price of the 2.4GHz Celeron D 320, as you move through the rest of the chart, that promise goes woefully unfulfilled. No other Celeron, Pentium 4, Pentium D or Pentium EE processor in the chart, in fact, falls by more than $3; and most don't fall at all. We keep waiting for some kind of movement in the Intel dual core listings, but Intel continues to hold the line, and has yet to respond to previous Athlon 64 X2 price cuts.
I guess we must have been bad this year... because Santa seems to have left a lump a coal in the CPU price guide's stocking. We were hoping that some nice price drops would make this a Merry Christmas for all you little CPU buyers; but instead, we got a guide full of mostly stagnating prices, with price drops remaining few and far between.
