This week's Intel chart is as slow as we've seen in quite a while. There are just four Intel price drops to be found, the biggest of which is a $7 cut to the price of the 2.8GHz Celeron D 336. The price increases also outnumber the cuts, although none of the higher prices registered greater than +$6. Overall, price levels remain pretty stable for the majority of Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron processors on our list.
The first CPU price guide of the New Year, unfortunately, remains as slow and unexciting as what we saw through the last few weeks of 2005. Throughout both of the major sections of the guide, price drops remain a rarity... and significant price drops have become almost a myth. But hopefully AMD and Intel have made increased price competition a New Year's resolution for 2006.
