As usual, the AMD activity has not been duplicated on the Intel side, and there's not a whole to report as far as Pentium 4/D and Celeron prices go. Most processors are holding steady, including the Pentium D 900 series that debuted in last week's edition of the guide. And those few Intel models that did drop in price did so by such small amounts that few are going to take much notice of their movement.
While it should come as no surprise that overall CPU prices have settled down after last week's excitement, there are still a few nice drops to keep this week's guide interesting. AMD has really shuffled their Athlon 64 FX deck, and offered up a set of $100+ price cuts to interested buyers. Here's hoping we keep seeing significant price drops in the weeks to come, and that someone lights a fire under Intel.
