Although there is some pricing activity with Pentium 4 and Pentium D processors, most of the cuts we see in the Intel section of the guide are a bit too modest to get excited about. But in comparison to what we saw in last week's Intel charts and this week's AMD section of the guide, any downward movement is welcome nonetheless. Although the cuts are not deep they are consistent - especially in the dual core Pentium D 800 and 900 series range - and at this point in time, we will take anything we can get.
While the warmer Spring weather has yet to thaw the AMD section of the guide, Intel prices do seem to be warming up a bit, with a few of the tracked Pentium D prices even falling by double-digits. So while there aren't as many price drops as we'd like to see (are there ever?), this week's CPU Price Guide does contain more good news than we've seen in far too many of the recent editions.
