While the higher-end of the Intel chart has stabilized and left us with none of the three-digit drops we saw last week's chart to report, the other shoe has dropped and we're starting to see the Celeron D price decreases filtering down. These were announced at the same time as the deep Pentium D 900 series cuts, but took until this week to affect real-world prices. A $55 drop in the price of the Celeron D 350 and a $21 drop in the price of the Celeron D 351 might not seem as impressive as what we saw last week, but these are still pretty significant, percentage-wise, given that the processors are priced at $76 and $79, respectively.
Even though a few Celeron D models showed lower prices this week, we unfortunately have little to show in the mainstream or high-end sections of the AMD or Intel charts. This is certainly a big step back from last week's activity, but a handful of drops do still manage to keep things interesting for CPU bargain hunters, especially entry-level buyers.
