Weekly CPU Prices - Week of July 3, 2006 - Page 2

As in the AMD section of the guide, the Intel charts contain a few scattered price drops that help keep things marginally more interesting than we've seen in recent weeks. Another similarity is the location of the larger price cuts, as the entry-level Celeron D was the hub of Intel activity this week. The biggest change was a $12 drop in the price of the Celeron D 335, with the Celeron D 320 and 325 falling by $11 and $10, respectively. A few smaller price decreases can also be found peppered throughout this section of the guide, though so too can some price increases.

General Comments

While this week's Intel and AMD charts might not contain as much price activity as we would like to see, it does contain some... and that is a vast improvement over what we've been seeing in recent updates. All we can do is hope that with the upcoming release of the Core 2 Duo and AMD's rumored Athlon 64 X2 price drops, we'll see more downward movement in future editions of the guide.
