As in the AMD chart, a few modest price drops help keep things interesting in an otherwise slow week for Intel prices. The biggest is a $26 cut to the price of the Pentium 965 Extreme; but while any drop is welcome, it barely constitutes a dent at its current $1010 price tag. There was virtually no change in any other area, and a few of the value-priced Pentium D 900 series actually increased in price.
Things continue to settle down, for the most part, with the huge price drops we saw a couple of weeks ago now little more than a fond memory. However, a few scattered price cuts, along with new product debuts, should help keep things interesting for potential CPU shoppers. Unfortunately, the Core 2 Duo/Extreme processors continue to be in short supply, and can go out-of-stock at any moment, although the Core 2 Duo 2MB Allendale versions are starting to make their presence felt.
