Unfortunately, the biggest price change in this week's Intel chart is a price increase, not a drop, as the retail cost of a 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 651 jumped by $25. But it wasn't a complete wash, as we do see a couple more Core 2 Duo's hitting mass market levels with online vendors. And even better, the Core 2 Duo that first appeared in last week's guide, the E6300, dropped $22 from its debut price and now sits below the $200 mark.
A few scattered price drops, here and there, help keep things interesting in this week's CPU Pricing Guide, as do new products like the Core 2 Duo models, which gradually make their way into vendors' inventories and onto the charts. But for the most part, overall CPU prices have been pretty slow to drop in these past couple of weeks and remain so in this week's guide.
