While none of the Intel prices we track dropped enough to send anyone rushing to make a purchase, several fell by modestly significant amounts, keeping things interesting for those looking to buy a new Intel processor. Specifically, the Celeron D and Pentium 4 lines displayed very stable pricing trends, but there was some downward movement in the Pentium D and Core 2 areas, including a pair of double-digit price cuts to the Pentium D 920 (2.8 GHz) and Pentium D 930 (3.0 GHz).
Significant AMD and Intel CPU price drops remain a rarity in the weekly guide, but the $99 cut to the Athlon 64 FX-60 certainly spiced things up a bit. Some price movement, especially with dual core Intel processors, can nonetheless be found scattered amidst the prices we track and may help would-be buyers make the decision to go ahead and make their purchases.
