While there's not much in the way of price drops to report in this week's Intel section of the guide, with the largest price shifts hitting only the $11-$15 range, we do have some good news in the form of two hot new processors making their way into the guide. The 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6700 and the 2.93 GHz Core 2 Extreme X6800 represent the extreme high-end of the Core 2 desktop line, and are the two final links to hit mass market availability.
A nice mix of "first appearance" processors and some scattered price drops help keep things interesting in this week's CPU Price Guide. And while most of the AMD and Intel processors tracked more or less hold steady in price, a few of those that fell may have dropped by enough to tempt at least a few potential buyers to take the plunge. The filling-out of the Intel Core 2 line is also good news for hardware enthusiasts interested in buying at the upper limits.
