Intel prices, for the most part, are holding steady in this week's guide. We do see a couple of modest drops; but they're somewhat balanced out by similarly modest price increases on a couple of other Intel processors. We also see a slowdown with the Core 2 Duo/Extreme line, as these processors have been steadily dropping in price since their introduction. The only significant price cut on the Intel chart was a $17 drop to the 3.4 GHz Pentium D 950, and this might be a harbinger of things to come as many Pentium D models are coming under pressure from the Core 2 Duo.
Bargain hunters, unfortunately, will find little to get excited about in this week's guide... at least as far as price drops go, anyway. But what should come as welcome news is the addition of a brand new chart, sorting processor prices by how much they've dropped since last week's guide. You can check it out by going to page five of the Weekly CPU Prices Guide.
