As in the AMD chart, there is only one significant price cut to be found in this week's Intel section of the CPU price guide: a $25 drop in the price of the XEON 5060. Other than that, in fact, the only others are two $1 price drops, with the remainder of the tracked processor prices either holding steady or inching upwards. The Core 2 Duo/Extreme models continue to show consistent (and even slightly higher in some cases) prices, breaking away from the consistent price drops we have seen over the past few months.
While we don't have a repeat of last week's huge price drops to report in this week's CPU guide, we also haven't seen AMD or Intel processors move significantly upwards in price. So those who are looking to making CPU purchases could pick worse times than now to do so, especially given how much bang you can now get for your processor-buying buck.
