Unfortunately, Intel buyers received the figurative "lump of coal" in their stockings, and are being treated to more of the same old same old in this week's guide. Only a single price drop was stirring, about as big as a mouse: a lone $5 price cut hit the 3.2 GHz Celeron D 351. The other Intel CPU prices we track held fairly steady, with a few Core 2 Duo models inching slightly upwards in price.
While a couple of unexpected price drops help to keep things from being a total wash in this week's CPU guide, prices mostly continue to stagnate for another week, making for a fairly uneventful final price guide of the year. But the past year has brought new levels of computing power within our reaches; and the next is sure to do the same, ever increasing the CPU bang that we can get for our bucks.
