While the first Intel chart of 2007, thankfully, does not contain any double-digit price increases to match what we saw in the AMD listings, it also doesn't have much in the way of price drops. In fact, the largest price change of any type was a measly $4, and rumors of Intel holding tight on CPU prices seem to be holding true. With no price dropping by more than $4, and most not dropping at all, there just isn't much to get excited about in the Intel sections of the guide.
Unfortunately, the New Year is off to a very slow start, with no significant price drops to be found anywhere in this week's CPU price guide. Neither of the major sections of the guide contains anything more than single-digit drops, in fact, and most prices are either holding steady or moving upwards from where they were in last week's edition. It will be interesting to see how long this stalemate continues, especially as both AMD and Intel are expected to launch new processors through the early parts of 2007.
