This week's Intel chart is even more sedate than what we saw in the AMD section of the guide, with most prices holding steady and none falling by more than $5. There is consistent downward movement in the Core 2 Duo and Quad lines, but this is limited to price drops in the $1-$5 range. The biggest price change, meanwhile, was a $14 increase in the tracked price of the XEON 5150.
This week's CPU price guide continues the trend set in our last update, with the overwhelming majority of listings seemingly frozen in place. Sure, there was a random $50 cut to the price of the Athlon 64 FX-62, but no other double-digit price drops were there to back it up. Price decreases, of any amount, are simply few and far between, and significant price drops seem to be becoming an increasingly rare commodity in the processor market.
