The Intel CPU price chart, meanwhile, appears to be frozen in place, with few of the tracked processors dropping at all and none falling by more than a few dollars. This was especially true of the Core 2 listings, as a $10 cut to the 2.4 GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600 was the only noticeable drop. The debut of a few new Intel Core 2 models, most notably the sub-$300 Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 GHz powerhouse, help keep things fresh and exciting.
AMD and Intel seem to be holding their ground, and CPU prices appear to be settling back in place after last week's smattering of significant drops. Most of this week's tracked prices are holding steady, with only a handful dropping at all and only one dropping by enough to take notice of. The big news, of course, is the debut of the value-packed 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo E6850, at an incredible price of only $279.
