While the majority of the Intel CPU prices we track are holding as steady as their AMD counterparts, we do have a couple of scattered price drops to report. These include a $59 drop in the price of the Core 2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0 GHz) and a $20 cut to the price of the Core 2 Extreme QX6800 (2.93 GHz). However, given that both of these affected processors in the $1,000 or higher range, it's hard to get too excited about such relatively small decreases.
A handful of price drops can be found scattered through this week's guide. But for the most part, prices continue to hold just as steady as we saw in last week's edition of the guide. The future could hold some changes on the Intel line, as the sub-$300 Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0 GHz) outperforms many higher-priced models, and something has definitely got to give.
