The overwhelming majority of prices tracked in our Intel charts continue to stagnate... even more so than what we saw in the AMD sections of the guide. The vast majority of prices on Core 2 Duo and Quad processors remained consistent, but one did fall by a significant amount. This price drop was big enough to draw just about all attention away from the AMD charts: a whopping $400 cut to the tracked price of the 3.0 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6850.
By and large, most of the prices in the AMD and Intel processor charts continue to hold steady or drop very slightly. But this week's CPU price guide does include one notable exception as the Core 2 Extreme QX6850 quad core received the first three-digit price drop we've seen in quite a few weeks.
