The Intel processor chart followed suit with AMD trends, and this week's only double-digit Intel price drop was an $11 cut to the tracked price of the 2.4 GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600. There was no significant activity on any of the other Core 2 Duo/Quad/Extreme processors, with only a few of the other tracked prices dropping at all and none falling by more than $4 compared to last week's prices.
If you were hoping that this would be the week that broke the recent streak of mostly stagnating CPU prices, then you will be disappointed. There are no deals that weren't already here last week, and even the soft-launch of the Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Penryn (it will not officially be released until November 12) failed to do anything to the bottom line. But if what you're looking for is a whole lot of processing power for your money, then there is still a lot to like about this week's CPU prices.
