As in the AMD charts, we saw a number of processor prices drop in Intel section of this week's guide. And while the individual price drops are modest, with the largest being an $8 cut to the tracked price of the Celeron D 360, these are welcome nonetheless. The best news was some downward movement in the entry-level and mainstream Core 2 Duo market, where already-low prices ensure that even a $4 drop makes a difference.
Among the things we can be thankful for, this week, is some downward price movement across all of the sections of this week's guide. Not only were both the AMD and Intel charts affected by this downward pricing trend, and it wasn't just high-priced CPUs receiving the cuts, as the $100-$200 Athlon 64 X2 and Core 2 Duo models also benefited. And while none of these drops is particularly huge, they certainly beat the practically frozen-in-place prices we saw in recent weeks.
