While a few prices (literally) did experience small price drops in this week's Intel charts, these were mostly in the Xeon area, rather than with the desktop models. The overwhelming majority of tracked prices seem frozen in place, with a sea of zeroes flooding the price change column. The Core 2 Duo, Quad and Extreme processor range was especially stable, with the lone change being a $2 price increase to the Core 2 Duo E6600.
Alas, last week's handful of modest price drops seem to have given way to the return of stagnant CPU prices, with the overwhelming majority of the processors we track from both camps holding steady and some even moving upwards. But as new AMD and Intel product continues to make its way into the guide, we can only hope that existing entries will start dropping in price.
