Although there was a trio of double-digit price changes in this week's Intel processor charts, unfortunately the prices moved upwards in each case. In fact, all but one of this week's eight Intel price shifts resulted in higher prices, with a measly $5 cut to the price of the 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo E6400 being the only price drop. But thankfully, the majority of the price increases were relatively small dollar amounts, although the two biggest ones hit the Core 2 Extreme X6800 (+$39) and Core 2 Extreme QX6800 (+$55) processors.
Unfortunately, this week's CPU price guide contains more price increases than it does decreases, especially in the Intel chart. We did receive some good news in the form of some double-digit price drops on the Phenom front, but that was it as far as it went in the AMD chart, and the Intel price jumps more than cancelled these out. Even so, there was still little in the way of overall chart movement, and for the most part, the prices we track continued to hold steady, just as they've been doing for weeks.
