As in the AMD charts, this week's Intel CPU prices are mostly holding steady, right where they have been for weeks. We did see a few minor decreases, with the biggest being a $10 drop in the tracked price of the 2.0 GHz XEON 5130; but nothing, really, to get too excited about. We are waiting for the remainder of the 45nm Core 2 processors to join the very popular and lone 45nm Wolfdale, 3.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, and possibly lower prices on the 65nm models.
Price drops continue to be few and far between in this week's guide, with the overwhelming majority of the AMD and Intel prices we track continuing to stagnate and none falling by enough to cause much of a stir. But we remain hopeful that more downward price movements remain somewhere on the horizon, especially with word of new processors models emerging in the near future.
