Intel Comments

Not to be outshined by the handful of AMD price drops, this week's Intel charts contain a number of modest price cuts, with several processors falling by double digits. The biggest was a $14 drop in the tracked price of the 2.4 GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600, while the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6750 (-$10), Celeron D 360 (-$11) and XEON 5355 (-$10) also joined the double-digit club. There was also a wide range of smaller $2-$5 drops throughout the Core 2 Duo line, while the prices on Core 2 Extreme models were remarkably stable.

General Comments

We're happy to report that you will find noticeable drops scattered throughout the AMD and Intel sections of this week's CPU price guide. And while none of these decreases is particularly large, any lower prices are welcome nonetheless. Hopefully, this will prove to be an omen of price drops yet to come.
