The prices in this edition of our Intel CPU guide are holding almost as steady as their AMD counterparts are. Only a few fell at all, but these were in the outlier Celeron D and XEON areas, and none of the more popular Core 2 Duo, Quad or Extreme processors showed a significant price drop - only one model decreased at all. In fact, the only double-digit price change was a $10 increase in the tracked price of the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6750.
We had been hoping that last week's handful of modest CPU price drops would be followed by some more of the same in this week's edition of the guide. But regretfully, the prices of AMD and Intel processors seem to have settled back down, with only a few dropping at all and none falling by enough to stir much excitement with buyers.
