A pair of $10 price drops, hitting the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6750 and the 3.0 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processors, help keep the Intel charts from being quite as uninspiring as the AMD section of this week's guide. But despite this pair of drops, most of the Intel prices we track held just as steady as their AMD counterparts, with the only other decrease being a $1 cut to the tracked price of the XEON 5355.
Unfortunately, the price drops that we keep hoping will be around some nearby corner continue to elude us, and the overwhelming majority of the AMD and Intel processors we follow continue to hold steady for yet another consecutive week. Adding more salt to the wound is the lack of availability of the latest 45nm Wolfdale and Yorkfield Core 2 Duo and Quad processors, which are in extremely high demand.
