Intel Comments

This week's Intel prices, unfortunately, held far steadier than their AMD counterparts. Only two of the prices dropped at all, and both were under the $5 mark - $2 shaved off the price of a 3.0 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9650 and a $4 drop in the tracked price of 2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo E6400.

General Comments

While none of the prices we track in our latest CPU guide dropped by very much, we are seeing more price decreases than had been the norm in recent weeks. Unfortunately, this week's drops have been largely restricted to the AMD sections of the guide, but we hope the upcoming wave of Phenom 50-Series processors will cause additional price decreases on the other side of the aisle.
