Unfortunately, this week's Intel charts don't have any noteworthy price drops to match the handful that we saw in the AMD sections of the guide. Only four of the prices we track decreased at all, in fact, with the 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 falling by $5 and a trio of Core 2 Duo models dropping by $3. There were also no significant price increases, with a $2 jump being the largest.
While individual price drops remain relatively few and far between in this week's CPU guide, we do have some moderate decreases to report, along with a handful on the AMD side that are actually significant enough to stir up some excitement. Hopefully, the coming weeks will see more of this kind of downward movement and less of the stagnation that we've been seeing in recent editions of the guide.
