For the most part, Intel CPU prices are holding very steady. There was some good news, as two of the processors we track, the 3.2 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9770 and the 3.0 GHz XEON E3110, fell in price by $17 and $16, respectively. Unfortunately, though, this week's biggest drop was matched by a $17 increase in the tracked price of the 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo E6320.
Last week, we were hopeful that the scattered price drops we were seeing would lead the way toward more downward price movement in both the AMD and Intel camps. But unfortunately, lower prices remain few and far between in this week's guide, with only a handful of the CPUs we track dropping at all and only a couple of them falling by more than a few dollars.
