The Intel CPU prices we track, for the most part, held almost as steady as their AMD counterparts did, with most either experiencing no price change or shifting by too small an amount to stir much excitement. The only exception, really, is a $27 drop in the tracked price of the 2.33 GHz XEON E5345 quad core. There was a double-digit price increase in the XEON line, as the 2.0 GHz XEON 5130 dual core jumped by $11. In terms of desktop processors, the Intel landscape was barren, and the best the Core 2 Duo line could muster was a trio of $5 price drops.
Price drops, unfortunately, remain something of a rarity in this week's CPU price guide, with the overwhelming majority of the AMD and Intel processors we track holding right where they have been for weeks. But a few did show modest price cuts, though such drops were few and far between.
