Intel Comments

Only three of the Intel CPU prices we track fell from last week's prices, and two of those dropped by amounts too small to merit much attention. But the third, the 3.2 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9770, decreased by $18 from last week's price. This isn't a huge drop, especially given its $1401 price tag; but at this point, we'll have to take what we can get.

General Comments

Unfortunately, last week's scattered price cuts (most of which were found in the AMD chart) appear not to have been a harbinger of drops yet to come, given how much things have settled back down in this week's guide. But a handful of processors did show some downward movement, and these do help make things at least somewhat interesting this week.
