Intel Comments

A pair of $5 price drops (on the Core 2 Quad Q9300 and XEON 5130) is the only thing keeping this week's Intel chart from being completely devoid of price decreases. And as in the AMD section of the guide, the biggest Intel price change is an increase - in this case, a $10 hike in the tracked price of the 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo E6850.

General Comments

Continuing the trend we've seen in recent weeks, price drops on AMD and Intel processors remain a rarity in this week's guide, with nary a significant drop to be found in either of CPU price charts. But all we can do is hope that this quarter will eventually yield some new product releases, and with it, more downward movement than we saw in the quarter that just ended.
