Intel Comments
Most of the CPU prices we track in the Intel charts held steady or changed by amounts too small to take much notice of. But a few processors did fall by double-digits, as the 2.93 GHz Core i7 940 and 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6750 received price cuts of $10 and $20, respectively. The Core 2 Duo E8600 and Core i7 920 barely missed making that same list, with each posting a $9 drop.
General Comments
Our first official CPU price guide of the new year, unfortunately, mostly brought more of the same, at least as far as overall CPU price levels are concerned. But a few noticeable price drops, at least, can be found scattered amidst the mostly-stagnant CPU listings that we've grown all too used to in recent weeks.
