Intel Comments
While the majority of the processors we track in the Intel charts showed steady pricing, a few dropped by significant amounts and one of them downright plummeted. The 3.0 GHz Core 2 Quad Q9650 fell a whopping $208 from last week's tracked price, while six other processors received double-digit price cuts, including the Core 2 Quad Q9400 (-$45) and Core 2 Quad Q9550 (-$37).
General Comments
After weeks of ho-hum pricing reports, this week's CPU guide finally contains some big enough price drops to stir up some excitement. With new products like the Phenom II X4 making their ways into vendors' stocks, and the Intel Core i7 continuing to push the Core 2 line, hopefully this week's decreases will be just the beginning.
