After last week's unexpected activity, the Intel chart appears to have mostly settled back down, with four of the prices we track dropping at all and only two falling by more than a few dollars. And while those two drops ($13 shaved from the tracked price of the 2.0 GHz Celeron E1400 and $16 off the 2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo E6400) are certainly welcome, they're not likely to stir much in the way of excitement. There are also small price increases sprinkled throughout the Intel chart, hitting various Core 2 Duo and Quad models.
Alas, our hopes that last week's flurry of Intel price drops would prove to be the beginning of a trend have gone largely unfulfilled. And while a few lower prices can be found on Intel CPUs, along with some great processor values on both sides, this week's AMD and Intel charts are holding steadier than we'd hoped for.
