This week's Intel CPU prices have held even steadier than their AMD counterparts. Sure, a couple of the processors we track showed (barely) double-digit price drops, but percentage-wise, it wasn't such a big deal, especially that $10 cut to the already-expensive Core i7 Extreme 965. The Core i7 920 received a $12 price drop, which meant a lot more to the bottom line value. Otherwise, the overwhelming majority of prices in the Core 2 Duo and Quad range held right where they were in last week's guide.
Overall AMD and Intel CPU prices continue to stagnate, unfortunately, with far fewer price drops than we'd like to be able to report. There were a few double-digit cuts in the Intel chart, but only the drop to the 2.66 GHz Core i7 920 made any real difference. The AMD listings showed even less downward movement, although both Phenom II X4 models did fall slightly.
