Intel's price drop, despite having been gradually absorbed into last week's pricing by vendors, nonetheless helped make things interesting in this week's price guide. But we're still left with the familiar scenario of Intel pricing being significantly more than the pricing on comparably-performing AMD processors and with RDRAM prices keeping the cost going with a P4 platform (unless you really like paying more for less performance and are building an i845-based system)... but I suppose it's not to be able to count on some things being consistent. Hopefully, however, Intel finally releasing (and/or approving) a DDR P4 chipset in the near future will once again fire up competition between the two processor giants.
