Intel processor prices, for the most part, are about as slow as AMD prices. But most troubling for anyone looking to build a top-of-the-line P4 system will be the fact that the OEM and retail 2GHz P4's rose by $19 and $18, respectively. Many have heard about made-to-order system makers either quoting long delays for the processor or even removing it as a selectable option on their sites for periods of time. Clearly, the demand has been exceeding the supply, allowing vendors to raise the price on Intel's flagship processor.
We continue to see little in the way of price drops on the processors we track in this guide, making it apparent that anyone looking to give someone else, or themselves, a new processor or system for the holidays might have to bite the bullet and buy at the current prices.
How about Intel and AMD prices on the same page? Here you have it, starting with high-end CPUs.
