As with AMD prices, we see the biggest drops on the newest, fastest processors. But also as with those prices, it is advisable to wait and see if the rumored price drops expected at the end of the month are as big as previous drops have been. With the OEM 2.2Ghz Northwood P4 costing $559, and the retail version comin in at $600, a price drop would certainly be welcome.
And so we find ourselves, once again, waiting to see if the rumors of price drops prove to be true. Given how much people have saved in previous such drops, it certainly would seem to wait another week or two and see. Granted, doing that with the ever-risig memory prices, lately, could end up costing you a pretty penny... but hopefully we'll have more luck waiting on processor pricing.
How about Intel and AMD prices on the same page? Here you have it, starting with high-end CPUs.
