Following the trend we saw in the AMD price chart, Intel's fastest P4 processors see the biggest drops in this week's guide. But as in those earlier comments, I am going to recommend that you wait and see what the price drops we're expecting in the next few days bring. While a $42 price drop on the retail 2.2GHz Northwood P4 is certainly tempting, you don't want to beat yourself up if you find out it drops by even more in just a few days.
Well, this is it... the rumored price drops on both Intel and AMD processors are expected in the next few days; and if they're anything like previous drops, those who have waited before buying should be relieved to have done so. It's possible that the bulk of the drops have already been absorbed into the prices by vendors who have been aggressively dropping Athlon XP and P4 prices for these past two weeks.; but it would be silly not to wait a few more days at this point.
How about Intel and AMD prices on the same page? Here you have it, starting with high-end CPUs.
