Weekly CPU Pricing Guide |
Weekly CPU Prices - Week of Nov 18, 2001By Housen Maratouk November 21, 2001
Welcome to the Sharky Extreme Weekly CPU Prices. This is a weekly update on CPU prices we find around the net. We have several different tables to help you find what you are looking for, sorted by manufacturer; (AMD or Intel) sorted by price; tables showing only high-end or low-end CPUs, all to make your research and subsequent buying decision a bit easier. Use our handy "jump to" feature at the bottom of each page to quickly get where you need to go. If you are new to this feature and are wondering just exactly how we get these prices, and how YOU can get them, use this link to take you to the page where we describe our search methods. Please note that most prices listed were found using PriceWatch and are only for phone orders, requiring that you call the vendors and tell them you found a specific price on PriceWatch or "on Sharky Extreme's Weekly CPU Price Guide, which uses PriceWatch." So without further ado here are your CPU Prices...
While older, slower processors are holding more or less steady in price, the Athlon XP processors have all dropped in price. The biggest drop was on the 1.6GHz Athlon XP 1900+, which fell by $12 to its current price of $245. The other news, of course, is that the 1.1GHz Duron has finally been added to the weekly price guide now that enough vendors are listing it as being in stock. But at a price of 42% more than the 1GHz Duron, and even costing more than a 1.13GHz/266 Athlon, it's hard to recommend going with it at this time.
