Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of October 14, 2002 - Page 2By Vangie Beal October 15, 2002While this week's SDRAM price drops are quite low, we're thankful not to see any price increases at all. Those hitting the price cut list this week include PC133 ECC 256-MB, down $4 to $30, and PC133 ECC 512-MB which dropped $5 to $52. Thus far our October SDRAM price watch is showing a rare occurrence of market stability and very limited price fluctuations. Once again this week, DDR SDRAM is showing a bit more movement but we're still seeing only slight price changes. For example, PC2100 256-MB is only up $2 to $49 while PC2700 256-MB is down by $3, coming to rest at $50. Keeping to their standard pattern, RDRAM prices aren't moving too much in either direction this week. However, the biggest increases for the week reside in this group: PC800 ECC 128-MB is up $5 to $48, while PC1066 256-MB (184 pin) rose another $6 and currently sits at $115. Overall memory prices remain pretty consistent, but we should all agree that this is better news than more price increases. Across the board we have only slight price fluctuations, along with the rare $4 and $5 changes mixed in a few places. For those looking to upgrade their memory we strongly advise that you confirm prices before buying, as memory prices can change so frequently online that our guide may not stay up-to-date for long. So until next time, hopefully you'll save a few bucks if you decided to buy this week rather than last.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
