Weekly Memory Prices - Week of November 11, 2002 - Page 2By Vangie Beal November 12, 2002For those of you who have been thinking about a nice little SDRAM upgrade, it looks like you won't (in most cases) be spending any more than you would have last week, since the SDRAM prices remain largely unchanged. The two listings that did shift however are PC133 CAS2 256-MB which is down $4 to $32 and PC133 ECC 512-MB which is up by $2 at $64 this week. This week we see quite a bit of price movement on DIMMs, unfortunately these are mostly price increases. The 512-MB modules have the biggest price increases, ranging from $11 (PC3200 512-MB) to $20 (PC2400 512-MB). PC2100 512-MB went up $12 to $131 and the only price drop here is week is a measly $1 drop on PC3200 256-MB. If a DDR SDRAM upgrade was in your plans, hopefully you made it last week! Unlike DDR SDRAM prices (thankfully) RDRAM prices are down a wee bit this week. While many 512-MB modules we list have gone up in price, PC800 ECC 512-MB is actually down $11 to $229. We also see a couple $1 to $3 price drops in the RDRAM section. Much to the consumer's disadvantage, overall DDR SDRAM prices are on the rise. Last week we saw a few modules here go up in price, but not enough to forewarn of major increases for this week. Over time we've seen RDRAM prices come down, but here we are seeing a bit more stability in the prices. While some memory prices are way up this week, let us not forget we do see a couple savings in the guide... and who knows, maybe next week we'll see something worth stocking up on. Until next week, happy upgrading!
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
